Round Four - Magione, Italy

Round 4 of the European Supermono Championships 2007 was held at the Autodromo Magione Circuit in Magione, Italy on july the 22th.

A hot raceweekend !

Fourth race in the European supermono championship series where held on the circuit Autodromo Dell'umbria, Magione Italy.
This open national events main Event was the european supermono race ! Foreign riders were warmly welcomed and taken good care of here !
On friday we had booked the two freepractice sessions that where possible to participate in.
Slight problems to learn this twisty track ! Saturday first qualifying, changed to a much leaner jetting due to the wery hot temperature, our meter showed 43 deg. C in the shadow !
Did alter the final gearing a bit from friday, Manged to take a 16th place in the first qualifying. Stefano Ramponi took pole on a works TM. In the second qualifying I managed to better the position to a 15th place, pole still held by Ramponi ! It was hot both for the riders and the engines !
Race Sunday 22 July.
The race was started in a traditional GP setup, Collecting to grid, engines shut down, 3min waiting before 1 warm up lap, and red lights off=start.
I had problems of finding neutral after the warm up lap and was not able to place the clutch hand correctly, This resulted in a bad start with to much wheelie.. I was 18th after the first lap and had to get my self up through the field. On second last lap I was 12th, chasing Massimo Temporali. Managed to overtake him on the last lap and finnished 11th totally. Alex Van Dijk Won, Stefano Ramponi second and Mark Lawes third.

Qualifications
